Notes:
Prepare all ingredients: mix the ground spices in a dish; open the
cans of beans and tomatoes, chop up the onion, rinse the rice and
start it in the microwave.
Drain the juice of the tomatoes to separate off the watery parts and preserve the tomato juice. Use the tomato juice at the very end to liquify to taste.
Drain the beans lightly. Save the liquid for later if needed. Put beans into stockpot along with tomatoes, salt and oregano. Cover with just enough liquid for warming purposes and put on stove at 5.
Saute the onion in olive oil a bit to dry it out and then add the garlic and ground spices and saute a bit more. Add to stockpot.
Maybe raise the heat to 7?
When the rice is done, add it to the stockpot and you're done.
